Why Alexandre Gama is regarded as one of the Pioneers in the Brazilian Advertising Industry

Alexandre Gama is a creative professional, entrepreneur, and business executive of a Brazilian advertising company known as Neogama. At 58 years old, Gama currently manages Neogama’s operations as the CCO and CEO. He is regarded as the first Brazilian executive to be appointed as the global chief creative officer of BBH, an English company. Furthermore, he is the only Brazilian in the executive board of Publicis Groupe Global Creative.

Academic and Professional Career

Gama is an alumnus of the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation. He earned a degree in advertising and communications from the institution. His first advertising job was at Standard Ogilvy & Mather as a copywriter and creative director. Gama also served in the same capacity at DM9. Other advertising companies that benefited from his directorial expertise include Young & Rubicam and Almap BBDO. Using the experience he earned from Young & Rubicam, Gama came up with Neogama in 1999.

Awards and Recognition

In 2006, Alexandre Gama outdid other competitors and took home the Agency Director of the Year Award during the 10th Professional Contribution Award. One year later, Gama was the receiver of the Entrepreneur of the Year in the Communications Industry Award that was sponsored by Caboré. During the same year, Grupo Consultore named Alexandre as one of the best three advertising professionals in Brazil.
